Spike's & Jamie's 911 Memorial Page |
We are dedicating this page to the friends and families of those killed or injured during the cowardly attack on an innocent American civilian population on 9/11/01; also to the rescue workers and volunteers who have given so much of themselves to help during this tragedy - some have given all.

Fifth grader ponders attacks
To the Editor:
I just can't believe people in their right minds would do such a thing. Four plane crashes, purposely! I really, really wish that this didn't really happen. I wish we were all dreaming, and when we woke up, everything would be fine. But, of course, that's one wish that won't come true. It's just scary to think that people would kill our fellow Americans. Last night, I was lying in bed, staring our the window, and I kept thinking I was hearing firecracks and explosions.
On the news this is being called "Attack on America." I think it should be called "Attack on American People." So many innocent lives were lost. You can't imagine how lucky we are to still be living and not dead. I can't say we're not injured, because we are. We may not have cuts and bruises to prove it, but this affected everyone in America, and everyone was hurt that this happened to our country. It's just unbelievable. All my life, I know I still won't believe why someone would do such a thing. Right now, my hand hurts from writing, but I'll keep on going. Just like America really hurts right now, but it'll keep on going. But that, of course, is a bigger issue.
I feel bad for the people in the country that did this to America. While some people may be dancing victory in the streets, I would think there would be some people ashamed that their own country would hurt another country like this.
We may not have been in New York City, we may not have had someone we know there, but we feel the sorrow for those that were in New York City to watch this happen, and for the people that had a person they know die innocently. We all love New York City, we all love the United States, but obviously, some other people in other countries don't love New York City and the United States.

Little Americans
To our little Americans, I'd like to say,
don't be afraid for another day.
They will never surprise us again,
we're watching closely, they can't get in.
We have our Air Force and our Army,
also our Marines and our great Navy.
They watch our land, our air and our sea,
always ready to protect you and me.
We are the greatest Nation in the world,
with hands on our hearts and our Flag unfurled.
So wear your ribbons of red, white and blue,
to show you support our America too.
Sing "God Bless America" as loud as you can,
for I know you're all proud to be an AMERICAN.

Patriotic Pennies
We are just kids,
what can we do
to show America,
we love her too.
We are too young,
we can't fight or give aide,
we can't give blood,
yet it's our future being made.
Acting alone, we are weak,
there is not much we can do,
but together, we are stronger,
than anyone knew.
So together, we will unite,
across this nation, hand in hand,
by collecting pennies,
we can help our troubled land.
A penny can't do much,
when it is all alone,
by putting millions together,
see how it's strength has grown.
The Patriotic Pennies,
is how they will be known,
as school kids band together,
no longer weak and alone.
So if a kid comes to your door,
with a bag, coffee can, or jar,
give your Patriotic Pennies,
for he or she is a rising American Star.

The name "Patriotic Pennies", is used with permission from Sherri Stafford, teacher at Evans Middle School in Evansville Indiana, who
coined the phrase and with help from fellow teachers started this project " Patriotic Pennies".
Please pass this on to Teachers across the USA, give our kids something to do so they will know they are just as needed and as capable of
helping out during this sad time in America's history.

My son's tribute
My Son Alex planted his American Flag in our front yard and next to a fire hydrant to honor those emergency personnel who lost their lives. Just wanted to share this with you
God Bless
